Art of Backpacking: Sky’s The Limit: Your Personal Journey

@artofbackpackin Even if money were no object, I'd definitely keep the lifestyle of a backpacker as a part of much of my travels! I don't have anything against a 5-star hotel, but I love the sense of community at a hostel. Some of the most memorable adventures I've had have been with total strangers that I hooked up with on the spur of the moment as fellow backpackers.
Much of my money would go to the non-profits that I support, but as some have commented, having a nice little house in a few places around the globe wouldn't be a bad idea either!

Agreed. I love the community hostels have. It's certainly made my journey a crazy adventure. Heck I'd still couchsurf as well with a million dollars and stay with the locals.

if i had a million dollars, i assure you i would not be living out of a backpack. i'd be staying in the nicest hotels i could find!

to each his own, as they say!

If I won a huge ridic jackpot like 400 million dollars, I might stay in a few more nicer hotels. Or heck, just buy a house in every city I love HAHA!

I've certainly played with this one in my head before...

I think, give the absence of needing to work, I would travel much slower. I'd set up residences somewhere for awhile, then eventually move on and live elsewhere. Rent out a villa in Tuscany and spend my days exploring Mediterranean Europe for awhile, then eventually pick up and head to Mexico for example.

    It would be nice!
